Mission:

The mission of the "Stent for Life" coalition is to promote the life-saving indications of PCI, implying that priority will be given to focusing invasive resources on those patient groups that will benefit the most.

Objectives:

• Define regions/countries with an unmet medical need in the optimal treatment of acute coronary syndrome (ACS).
• Implement an action programme to increase patient access to primary PCI where indicated.
• Increase the use of primary PCI to more than 70% among all ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients.
• Achieve primary PCI rates of more than 600 per 1 million inhabitants per year.
• Offer a 24/7 service for primary PCI procedures at all invasive facilities to cover the country's STEMI population need.
